Devo for Firefox: Awesome
I see the Devo Firefox addon from chimney came in as a runner up in the extend Firefox 3 contest (one of the winners if I had my say!). Wow, what an awesome addon that has huge potential, and takes a massive step towards Alex Faaborgs idea of a Firefox Graphical Keyboard UI.
Adding actions is so easy, so to this end please be sure to check out how easy it is to search for an address or open Minimap from Devo here.
Only possible downside to Devo is the UI doesn’t quite sit right with me at the moment (it is placed using screen x/y but would rather it stayed within the bounds of my browser window, front and centre. Also, pink and yellow text on black, hmmm). I would also like to see ranking ala quicksilver.
Don’t let that put you off though, go grab it from the AMO sandbox (and drop a comment whilst you are there).

Holy sh*t batman, ubiquity rocks. Oh well, the mapping in Ubiquity spells the end for Minimap……..

Firefox is hot. I remember it back in the day when it was called, oh what was it?…..Either way, I remember it from back when it was only at version 0.5/0.6, nowhere’s near 1.0.4. Even then it was hot.

First off, thanks for blogging about my extension.
I must also congratulate you on writing Minimap. Awesome extension!
Anyway, I’m now working on another extension that will soon replace Devo. It’s much better and a lot easier to extend. You can check it out at http://wiki.mozilla.org/Labs/Ubiquity . Ubiquity 0.1 will release in the very near future. So, when you have the time, contribute to it!
